Event: August 7, 2009

Part 1 : [audio:http://recordings.talkshoe.com/TC-22622/TS-249093.mp3|titles=Ruben Olsen on mobile voip]
IRC transcript for links etc. Speaking of IRC, please get on #vuc to participate in the conference. If you aren’t there to ask to be unmuted, I can’t know you need to be heard!
Part 2 : [audio:http://recordings.talkshoe.com/TC-22622/TS-254608.mp3|titles=More on iPhone – codecs – video]

ruben olsen

Some of the topics:

What is a client, what is a dialer?

– Symbian and iPhone platform differences.
– Voice Quality issues
– SIP Stacks in use (built in, own made)
– Hand out / Hand in
– Presence
– Chat
– Video support

and a lot more. I did end up buying and using iPico SIP client on the iPod Touch G2 and works best of the three apps I have tried so far. See the post just below this one for details.

The Part One audio stops after about 45 minutes and the Part Two audio is not Ruben. Do you have the rest of Ruben speaking – it was just starting to get interesting!

Part 2 is a separate session where the guest often has already left. I believe everything is correct for the recordings but I will check when I can.
