Dave Michels on Lync

Event: Friday May 13 at 12 Noon EDT

Dave Michels (@DaveMichels on Twitter) will finally clue us in on Lync, a topic he’s covered many times in his excellent blog that you can follow at www.pindropsoup.com.

Microsoft’s VoIP solution known as Lync is changing the conversation at the enterprise. Rarely does a single product cause so much controversy and impact. Dave Michels will provide an overview of Lync, and an analyst’s view of why its stirring the pot.

Howdy,
Is Lync relevant any more? With Microsoft buying Skype, won’t that be their focus for voip? I did not really ever trust a proprietary product like Skype, and a company as untrustworthy as Microsoft buying them only reinforces that. But, I expect lots of talk about this purchase.
Good day

I’m asking myself the same questions! We probably won’t know for a while.
Will MS use profit from the huge registered user base? Will some casual users leave? Will the pricing of services change? Did MS want to acquire talent, technology or neither?
