tomdemoorTom De Moor describes himself as an Asterisk-fan working as IT manager in a large non-profit organization in Belgium. He has connected 135 Android mobile phones to their Asterisk-PBX. This year he will be giving a presentation at Astricon about the Twitterapp and the OpenLDAP-phonebook he has made for the Digium phones. You can find both apps on the Asterisk Exchange page.
If you use Twitter, an app for your deskphone seems like a good use of the idle screen, assuming you are following streams of interest to you. On the other hand, if you want something more serious, Tom’s OpenLDAP addressbook app lets you search for names and phone numbers in an OpenLDAP address book, and dial the number. There’s a php example with the app to demonstrate how it is used to connect to an OpenLDAP database.
